Happy new years!
I hope 2011 has been a success for you and that this year will bring even more success. I know that I've had some trouble with my shoulder injury which prevented me from playing guitar in early 2011 but I managed to get out of it in one consciously healthy piece. I've made a lot of accomplishments this last year and the year of 2012 will be of even more accomplishments for me. Why you ask? I will finally be releasing my new album, "The Lamaj Movement" in March!
Speaking of which, I'll be going to Montreal tomorrow to start recording the first batch of songs at the legendary McGill University Studios. If you'd like a sneak peak as to what the recording will sound like, see this video of me playing
"Ziur" when I was there last October for a demo. We used 9 mics to capture every single detail of the guitar at that session. Its very satisfying to see my progress with these compositions. After all, it has been over 2 years now since my last release. I will say that this is a concept album dedicated to my family's journey to how we arrived to Canada, so a lot of thought has gone into this project. I can't wait to share it with you.
As you may already know I will be releasing this album with CandyRat Records. Ever since I started playing acoustic guitar back in 2003 it has been a goal of mine to be affiliated with them and to be surrounded by the artists on the label... and its actually going to happen. Expect to see my CD / HD videos on their YouTube channel come this March!
One last thing here, I've been getting some really positive feedback on my electric guitar improvisations on my new YouTube channel. Its definitely more ambient and raw so check it out
HERE to see if you dig it.
More updates as they come but don't forget to add me on Facebook and Twitter if you want to be notified of news as they come in! Thanks for your ongoing support and feel free to e-mail me for any questions / comments you may have.
